One of the key people making that happen is our Pickerings+ Specialist - Carly.
We recently sat down for a quick Q&A with Carly, to learn more about what the role involves, how she helps customers, and what keeps her passionate about the job.
What does a typical day look like for you as Pickerings+ Specialist?
No two days are the same, which is what I love about the role! I am responsible for obtaining quotes for Pickerings+ and ensuring we have competitive prices and clear communication for all our extras. I ensure our suppliers have all the information required to provide us a great service allowing us to be a turnkey solution for our customers.
How did you get into this role? What was your career path?
I started my career in telecommunications as a call centre advisor and after gaining experience of the job I ventured on to be the training coordinator which allowed me to progress onto a team leader role. With this experience I started at Pickerings as the Pickerings+ Specialist, as I felt like it was the perfect fit, allowing me to blend customer service with technical knowledge. I am still learning more and more everyday!
What skills are essential for someone in your position?
You need to be a great communicator, definitely. But just as important is curiosity. The products are always evolving, so it’s critical that I keep close relationships with our suppliers to stay informed.
What’s your favourite product, and why?
Right now, it’s Climate Control. With it being Summer, it is a great addition to any set up and really makes a difference to a customers day-to-day working life.
How do you work with the sales team to support their efforts?
We’re a team, always. While our sales teams focus on getting the right solution for the customer’s needs, I support by helping get the best product for the right price.
How has the role of Pickerings+ Specialist evolved in the past few years?
Since starting, the amount of Pickerings+ products that we offer had increased and the relationship with our suppliers has strengthened allowing us to ensure we are offering the best service we can.
Are there any new products coming up or in the pipeline?
We are looking into expanding our range of Eco products to support our sustainability goals.
