Since formation in 1969 Pickerings has grown to become a trusted, reliable and reputable provider of portable buildings, modular buildings and related products and services.
Our accreditations prove increased trust and recognition giving peace of mind to our customers of dealing with a reputable supplier. They also know that Pickerings quality and credentials have been thoroughly checked and approved. These independent assessments can save our customers having to go through lengthy pre-qualification processes when they need portable cabins and modular building systems.
These accreditations demonstrate competencies of Pickerings having achieved a creditable and consistent standard particularly around health and safety.

ISO Certifications (UKAS accredited)
The International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) is an independent, non-governmental, international organisation with a membership of 167 national standards bodies. By achieving our ISO 9001, ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 certifications, Pickerings has demonstrated that the systems we have in place meet the high standards set out by the ISO.
ISO 9001: 2015 is the internationally recognised quality management system showing dedication & commitment to meeting customers’ needs, operating efficient management processes & delivering consistent, good quality products & services.
The ISO 45001: 2018 standard specifies requirements for an occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system to enable organisations to provide a safe & healthy workplace by preventing work-related injury and ill health, as well as by proactively improving its OH&S performance.
The ISO 14001: 2015 certification is a globally recognised sign in the preservation of the environment demonstrating a systematic approach to environmental management & showing dedication to sustainable development.
As with all our ISO certifications an annual external audit is carried out by a third party to ensure our systems are maintained and any non-conformances are noted for correction.
The scope of all 3 registrations covers the hire, sale, installation, dismantling, maintenance, delivery and collection of modular buildings, portable buildings, welfare facilities, storage containers & generators.

Crown Commercial Service
The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) plays an important role helping the public sector save money when buying common goods and services. It is the biggest public sector procurement organisation in the UK. CCS is an executive agency, sponsored by the Cabinet Office.
Pickerings are a named supplier on the Offsite Construction Solutions (RM6184) framework which is a four year agreement live from the 2nd April 2023. We are one of 29 suppliers who have been awarded Lot 1, which is the education section allowing us to bid on all opportunities in this sector for hire and purchase.

Considerate Constructors Scheme
The Considerate Constructors Scheme is a non-profit making, independent organisation founded in 1997 by the construction industry to improve its image. Construction sites, companies and suppliers registered with the scheme are monitored to measure that they conform to and abide by the five key areas of its Code of Practice.
Pickerings is one of a very small number of registered suppliers to to the Considerate Constructors Scheme providing modular buildings, portable cabins and related portable accommodation.

ALLMI
The Association of Lorry Loader Manufacturers and Importers (ALLMI) was founded in 1978 at the request of the Health and Safety Executive, and it remains today as the UK’s only Trade Association devoted exclusively to the lorry loader industry.
It serves, represents and promotes the interests of its members and the industry at large, and it is the natural focus and authority on all issues involving the design, manufacture, application and use of lorry loaders.

SMAS
SMAS (Safety, Management, Advisory Services) is a dedicated health and safety assessment organisation. It is a member of Safety Schemes in Procurement, SSIP.
SMAS works with many of the UK housebuilders and many other construction organisations.

FORS
The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is an accreditation scheme for transport fleet operators which aims to raise the level of quality within fleet operations, and to demonstrate which operators are achieving exemplary levels of best practice in safety, efficiency, and environmental protection.

Constructionline Gold
Constructionline is the UK's largest register of contractors, consultants and material suppliers. It contains thousands of key decision makers from buying organisations searching for a quality supplier such as Pickerings portable and modular buildings. Having been accredited with Constructionline Gold Pickerings has not only satisfied essential criteria but also been assessed and awarded the Health & Safety SSIP certificate.

RISQS
GB rail’s supplier assurance scheme RISQS is run by the industry, for the industry, under the stewardship of RSSB. RISQS remains central to the safe and cost-effective procurement of railway products and services, providing assurance for rail industry buyers to do business with confidence with approved suppliers.Buyers of products and services throughout the GB rail industry use RSSB RISQS as their supplier qualification service. Pickerings has completed rigorous assessment to achieve accreditation to provide to the rail sector with portable accommodation including site welfare and portable toilets; hire of generators and construction power supplies.

Safe Contractor
SafeContractor is part of the Alcumus Group, the market-leading provider of technology-enabled compliance risk management, certification and verification services.

Achilles UVDB
Achilles UVDB is the utility industry pre-qualification system used by the utilities sector in the UK to manage risk within the supply chain and comply with EU regulations. UVDB is used by many utility buyer organisations including National Grid, SSE and Thames Water to source potential suppliers.
Pickerings has achieved Silver Plus membership and demonstrated its capability to meet the industry requirements through the industry pre-qualification scheme and validated by Achilles UVDB.
Products supplied through our current Achilles UVDB accreditation includes steel storage containers, mobile and portable cabins, generator hire and modular buildings.

MPBA
The Modular and Portable Buildings Association (MPBA) play a key role in connecting all sectors of the modular and portable building industry together.
The Association is represented on committees for BSI, LPCB-Expert Group D and also works with BRE, LABC, CLG, NHS, Cskills-CITB, and Carbon Trust to represent the industry.
Clear aims, objectives and codes of conduct have been set-up by the MPBA and approved by industry regulatory bodies.

YPO
YPO provides procurement solutions for public sector organisations. Established by 13 local authorities in 1974 and now with national coverage YPO is the UK's largest public sector buying organisation and still 100% publicly owned. YPO provides a range of products and services to various types of customer including schools, local authorities, emergency services, charities, public sector and other businesses such as nurseries and care homes. Pickerings was awarded a place on the YPO framework for customers to hire, buy or lease purchase modular buildings, temporary classrooms, healthcare related modular buildings, site accommodation, portable toilets and much more.

Cyber Essentials
Pickerings is certified in the Government backed Cyber Essentials scheme that helps protect organisations from a wide variety of the cyber attacks of all sizes. Our Cyber Essentials certification shows our customers we are working to secure our IT against cyber atacks which enables us to operate on Government contracts. The Cyber Essentials certificate shows that Pickerings was assessed as meeting the Cyber Essentials implementation profile and satisfactory against commodity based cyber attack.

Kent County Council
Pickerings are pleased to have been successfully awarded the position of provider on the Kent County Council Framework Agreement for Temporary & Semi Permanent Buildings (Y21018).
KCS Procurement Services has already vetted the chosen suppliers through the tender evaluation process. KCS Professional Services is a trading unit of Commercial Services whom are wholly owned by Kent County Council (KCC).
