Pickerings Modular School Classrooms


Kingsbury Academy is a special educational needs (SEN) school in Coventry for pupils aged 4-11 with significant learning disabilities.

Their children are at the core of everything they do and every decision they make. In a safe and highly personalised environment, the staff at Kingsbury believe learning must be stimulating, vibrant and enriched.

With the need to provide additional learning facilities and toilets for a growing number of pupils Kingsbury set out to buy a quality modular building to match their growth plans and the existing environment. Following the visit of a Pickerings Education Specialist to the academy and after discussions with other potential suppliers Kingsbury realised that Pickerings would provide not only the best building solution to meet their specialist needs but also an overall cost-effective package.

Pickerings proposed a single storey modular building that was safely delivered and installed on a grassed area adjacent to existing school buildings - all within the strict timescales set by the academy. The finished building size of around 18 x 10 metres consists of 11 building modules comprising of two large open plan classrooms; extensive entrance lobby with double doors and full floor-to-ceiling glazed panels; 4 individual toilet cubicles for pupils.

As well as providing the modular building Pickerings full turnkey solution included managing the building control requirement; groundworks; pathways; service connections; fire alarm; intruder alarm; emergency lighting; climate control; air ventilation system; door access control; interactive whiteboards and classroom furniture.

The staff and pupils at Kingsbury Academy are very happy with their new school building.

The building quality, turnkey package and overall customer service provided by Pickerings was excellent. We would have no hesitation is using them again for our future building requirements.
