Pickerings Supports Nuneaton BMX Club

At Pickerings, we’re proud to play a part in strengthening local communities, and our latest project with Nuneaton BMX Club is a perfect example of how businesses can come together to make a lasting impact.

When we learned that the much-loved Huncote Hornets BMX Club had closed and that their storage and welfare containers needed a new home, we were determined to help ensure their legacy continued. After a call for support from the Deeley Group, valued partners of this year’s Starley Sportive - we stepped in to assist.

As part of our community support initiative, Pickerings organised the collection and delivery of the containers free of charge, ensuring that Nuneaton BMX Club could safely relocate and repurpose these important assets. The units will now serve as secure storage for bikes and equipment, as well as provide office space, catering facilities, toilets, and safe changing areas for female riders.

Seeing these containers put to such meaningful use is exactly what community support is all about.

Club spokesperson Andy McCoy shared his thanks:

“We’re incredibly grateful to both Pickerings Hire and Deeley Group for their amazing support. These containers will make a huge difference to how we operate — providing secure storage for bikes and equipment, as well as space for our volunteers to run coaching, events and catering. It’s a fantastic example of local businesses coming together to support grassroots sport.”

We’re delighted that our contribution will help Nuneaton BMX Club continue to grow participation in BMX racing, from balance bike beginners to national competitors - while keeping the spirit and heritage of the Huncote Hornets alive.

Supporting grassroots sport, young people, and community wellbeing is at the heart of what we do, and we look forward to seeing Nuneaton BMX Club thrive with their new facilities.
