The Operations Manager position, in our depot, gives you a fantastic and unique opportunity to progress within the business and satisfy your career goals.
The Main Responsibilities
As an Operations Manager, you will ensure that the customer is prioritised in all our actions. You will supervise and coordinate operations within the depot to make sure the quality of units and presentation of the yard area is to its highest standard.
You will responsible for the utilization of stock in line with the company asset management style and managing the project to ensure all equipment is available including correct staffing levels and tools.
You will have constant communication with the yard and the office to make sure all the needs of the business are being met. This will ensure the customers receives the unit within the set timescale and to the high standard Pickerings exceeds in.
Monitoring cooperation and teamwork between the yard-based colleagues whilst supervising and maintaining depot standards is an essential part of being an Operations Manager.

- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure to strict deadlines
- Capability to take ownership and responsibility
- Ability to adapt to individual and operational change in a diverse and fast-paced organisation
- Knowledge of the hire industry and process.
- General knowledge of the construction industry and trades including products.
- Previous experience as in an operations managerial role is favored.
