Modular Hire & Sales Manager

The role of Modular Manager takes a pivotal role in leading sustainable growth for the modular business by directing, supporting, and developing people, process, and product. Having demonstrated the capability and passion for the business; you will care about doing the right thing for customers. You show this everyday through confident delivery, tenacity for making things happen and determination to drive through change and improvement.

Reporting to: Managing Director

Health & Safety:

  • Comply and manage all Health & Safety that relates to the welfare of others and self at all times in the depot and on site
  • Leading the team to comply with all Health & Safety, at all times on site
  • Managing Site Risk Assessment and Method Statements (R.A.M.S) always adhering to the Health & Safety policies on site
  • Ensuring all colleagues / contractors have signed the relevant R.A.M.S according to their job description and duties in line with the company policies and procedures

People:

  • To confidently give balanced data-based feedback to build capability, energise and enable performance
  • Looking after the welfare of my colleagues by ensuring they have the correct tools to perform in their role
  • Working with Head of UK Sales and the Sales Manager to utilise the sales team and help guide them into new sectors outside of construction

Customer:

  • Through the sales team ensure any customer enquiries or complaints are dealt with professionally and in a timely manner
  • Leading my team to put customers first and understand the importance of being the best locally and nationally
  • Having confidence in my role to successfully coach and build our teams capability to give excellent service
  • Building relationships and trust with my customers and lead our teams to do the same
  • Continually deliver great customer service, representative of the company, by making decisions that are right for our customers by understand who they are and providing the right range, accurate pricing, and quality products

Finance:

  • There is a strong business strategy in place that supports the delivery of positive growth. This is reviewed and updated as necessary to deliver my commitment, ensuring they are in line with budget
  • On larger projects, identify depots capable of delivering the project with the Regional Directors. In some cases, identify multiple depots for a project, cutting down on the use of sub-contractors
  • Successfully utilising our sales and field sales teams to support, build, implement and monitor the sales strategy in collaboration with Head of UK Sales

Operations:

  • Managing the CAD Designers to ensure that layout drawings can be translated in to economical and viable builds
  • To check all drawings and quotes for accuracy
  • Manage design freeze process
  • Managing the Project Managers to ensure processes are in place to deliver projects safely, on budget and within agreed timeframes
  • Assist general managers with the on-target delivery of modular projects
  • Ensure all projects are delivered in accordance with the appropriate Health & Safety and CDM regulations
  • Where required provide pre order support to general managers to ensure all risks are minimised for post order project delivery
  • Enhance and standardise our modular offering including Pickerings+
  • To source as much product in this country as possible for both Trimo and CTX utilising the buyer in Head Office
  • Develop the standard classroom offering
  • The teams are well trained and are held to account to deliver for customers
  • Vetting sub-contractors for modular builds and installations to ensure consistency and best value are achieved
  • All quotes are logged on InspHire

How I Do It:

  • To be open and willing to learn, stretch and develop myself and in doing so develop the business
  • I know my competitors and have plans in place to combat any impacts
  • I lead by example and have a personal development plan based on my coaching and data-based feedback that addresses my behavioural and technical needs
  • Identify training in the field making the regional directors aware
  • I maintain regular contact with the regional directors, assisting with customer and supplier queries, fleet management and cost control as and when required
  • I collaboratively work with depots and provide assistance as and when required, either in person or over the phone
  • I attend, participate, and contribute to all meetings and training sessions
  • I always comply with and uphold the company policies and procedures
  • Establish what good looks like from a product and process point of view. Work with the Regional Directors to implement through the wider business
  • Undertaking any additional tasks as may reasonably be required from time to time

  • I lead the Business into new sectors in collaboration with Head of UK Sales and the Sales Manager
  • I help build the modular brand and Pickerings + so they are highly valued by customers and colleagues
  • I listen to feedback and take action for improvement for future projects
  • I achieve a balanced performance through continuous improvement
